AGBU Arménie Terre de Vie Programme Celebrates its 10th Anniversary

21 December 2021

In December 2021, AGBU celebrated the 10th anniversary of the creation of its Arménie, Terre de Vie programme, an occasion to gather the volunteers of the programme, its sponsors and donors, during an exceptional exhibition at AGBU Paris’ Alex Manoogian Cultural Center.

The humanitarian programme was created in 2011 by AGBU Youth Paris, based on three founding pillars: education, health and the environment. For 10 years, it has continued to evolve and grow. More than 150 volunteers participated in the programme that benefited more than 2,000 children in 4 different towns and villages in Armenia. In total, the volunteers have raised over 320,000 euros from sponsors, public and private institutions and from donors.

In its latest edition, during the summer of 2021, the programme successfully carried out its mission in Dilijan, in the Tavush region, with a tremendous spirit of solidarity between the volunteers and the local population.

Organized by the volunteers themselves, the anniversary exhibition took place at the AGBU Paris Alex Manoogian Cultural Centre and retraced, through a collection of the most beautiful photos, the history of the programme since 2011 and its 6 editions, in the presence of the different leaders and volunteers of the programme. The emotion was strong for all those present, especially during the screening of the video summary of the 2021 edition. It was a great opportunity to see the different achievements and the bonds of friendship between the inhabitants of Dilijan and the volunteers.

The programme, organized so far every other year for French volunteers, will now be open to international volunteers, on an annual base.

The application forms for the 2022 summer edition will soon be available on the website of AGBU France (www.ugabfrance.org). Please note that access is limited to 30 participants.

The organizers of the programme look forward to the next edition and remain profoundly grateful to all the donors who have made it a success for the past decade.
